Ecodistricts

One of the more interesting areas of work on sustainable neighbourhoods and cities now is the Ecodistricts movement – where all the goals and potential of sustainable cities are being focused on individual  neighbourhoods as a key unit of building a sustainable city.  Many Ecodistrict projects are now underway around the world under this banner. Examples can be found in Malmo Sweden; Vancouver, Canada; Hamburg, Germany; Ottawa, Canada; Portland, Oregon USA; and Greensburg, Kansas USA.
