A significant amount of global environmental impact comes from our transportation system and the negative impacts on human health from the major role commuting plays in contemporary life is now well-documented.  There are many ways a community or city can shift modal share away from the conventional automobile to healthier and more sustainable transportation options.  There are also a growing number of options for making transportation logistics, trucking and associated elements of the economic supply chain more sustainable.

EDRS has integrated sustainable transportation into its role in advising on projects.

The following offer some resources to explore regarding principles and methods of reducing the impact of our transportation systems.
